Description: Buttercrunch lettuce has set the standard for classic butterhead lettuce with its soft, buttery-textured leaves that enclose a crisp, juicy, and sweet-tasting inner head. Very heat tolerant and slow to bolt, Buttercrunch remains mild long after other varieties have turned bitter. Developed by George Raleigh at Cornell University, it was an All-America Selection winner in 1963.
